Comprehensive Textbooks & Scaffolded Learning

We have transitioned to Living Oxford English (Oxford University Press), offering structured progression in reading, writing, listening, speaking, and phonics.

"From Play to Purpose" Pedagogical Continuum

KS1 (P.1–P.3) — Game-Based Pedagogy: Integrating gamified phonics, school-based interactive language games, and digital platforms to build foundational fluency, pronunciation, and reading interest.
KS2 (P.4–P.6) — Self-directed Project-based Learning: Engage students with school-based multimodal readers on Rainbow One to scaffold independent inquiry. Students create authentic English artifacts, including digital e-magazines, podcasts, and video documentaries.

Diversified Dictation & Assessment Forms

Moving beyond traditional dictation to include a diversified set of dictation forms, including Image-cued Dictation, Phonics Dictation, Story-based Dictation, Recitation, Fill-in-the-blanks, and Theme-based Dictation in order to cater for learner diversity.
Implementing multimodal formative assessments (e.g., lapbooks, infographics, posters, oral recordings, and game-based tasks) on platforms like Rainbow One to cater for diverse learning styles.

AI Literacy & Ethical Digital Citizenship

Embedding age-appropriate AI literacy into KS1 (visual awareness & guided perception) and KS2 (guided interaction, vocabulary extension, and critical evaluation of AI-generated content).
Promoting Assessment as Learning through immediate formative feedback while reinforcing digital ethics and authentic human interaction.

Heir of Hope Curriculum (Truth & Justice)

P.4–P.6 e-Reading modules on Rainbow One featuring value-embedded stories that inspire reflective writing and oral expression.
Co-planning with the Religious Education (RE) team to align English unit themes with core Catholic values (Truth, Justice, Love, Life, Family).
An annual Cross-Curricular Values Learning Showcase displaying student portfolios and value reflections.

Heir of Heritage Curriculum

Integrating local Cheung Chau, national Chinese, and global Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) into P.1–P.6 English learning and teaching.
Students building connection and engagement with island community bearers, research cultural roots, and create authentic advocacy artifacts (audio tour guides, podcasts, documentary videos).
Showcase student achievements to an international audience.
